Skew Chisels Left - 18mm

Made in Germany, these chisels with their 45° skew will leave a clean cut when trimming shoulders, dressing end grain or tidying inside corners.

The blades are made from a premium quality chrome vanadium tool steel, which has high resistance to metal fatigue, to allow for use with a mallet or free hand. Each blade is hardened to Rc61 along its entire length, resulting in a blade that will hold and retain a sharp, fine edge, over the life of the tool, without becoming brittle when sharpened. The blades are finely polished to achieve a mirror finish to minimise friction when cleaning delicate joints. The side bevels are finely ground to a narrow, tapered land for cleaning into angled corners and tight recesses. The blade and tang are forged from one piece of steel, which is seated deeply into the chisel handle for strength and durability.

The handles are made from slow growing hornbeam selected for its straight grain and strength and two steel hoops prevent the handle splitting or spreading when struck with a mallet. The handles have flats on the top and bottom for better grip and comfort. The chisels have an overall length of 260mm. ©
